Best known as Chef Ed Harris, hailing from the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, he credits his love for great cuisine to his Guyanese upbringing. With his parents’ kitchen serving as a central gathering place for the family, Ed’s passion for cooking was ignited at a very young age. This passion ultimately led him to New York City, where he pursued his career as a professional chef, working in some of the finest kitchens, including Jean-Georges, Buddakan, and The River Café.
Having served in a wide range of roles, from executive chef, tournant, expediter, and saucier to consulting chef, Chef Ed draws from his extensive experience in his current work as a food product developer. Now based in Atlanta, he has launched a line of products including specialty spices, vegan recipes, breakfast foods, cookbooks, and designer aprons. In addition to his culinary work, he has appeared on several food shows, including winning Food Network’s Chopped (“Turbot Powered”) and competing on Beat Bobby Flay and Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell.
Beyond the kitchen, Chef Ed is deeply committed to community service and has supported organizations such as Autism Speaks, Taste of New York, and the James Beard Foundation. His passion for food is matched by his dedication to helping others and promoting healthier lifestyles.
At home, Chef Ed enjoys sharing his love for cooking with his family, teaching the importance of healthy eating, mindful shopping, and creating flavorful meals. He lives by and shares the mantra: live well, eat well, and be well.
