Don Fox is Chairman of Firehouse Subs®, where he supports President Mike Hancock and the rest of the brand. A restaurant industry veteran of 50 years, Fox has spent two decades at Firehouse Subs, including serving as President and CEO from 2009 to 2023. Under his leadership, the restaurant brand grew to more than 1,245 restaurants in 46 states, Puerto Rico and Canada. Don sits on various boards of influence in the business and non-profit communities, and is a respected speaker, commentator and published author. Among his works are “Patton’s Vanguard” and “Final Battles of Patton’s Vanguard,” which chronicle the Word War Two history of the United States Army Fourth Armored Division.
He was recognized by Nation’s Restaurant News as 2011’s Operator of the Year. In 2013, he received the prestigious Silver Plate Award from the International Food Manufacturers Association (IFMA), was ranked No. 1 on FastCasual.com’s 2013 Top 100 Movers & Shakers list, and received the Advocacy Leadership Award from the National Restaurant Association. In 2019, he was named an “Industry Titan” by the Women’s Foodservice Forum (WFF), and in 2021, received director emeritus status with the National Restaurant Association.
