Daniel Smith

Daniel Smith serves as the President of Rusty Taco, bringing over two decades of experience in restaurant operations to the brand. His career began with Claim Jumper Restaurants, where he spent 26 years, ultimately rising to the position of Vice President of Operations. Smith has also held significant roles at Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza, Bonefish Grill, and as a multi-unit Pieology franchisee. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Hopdoddy Burger Bar for six years. As President, Daniel is focused on enhancing operational efficiency, refining marketing strategies, and ensuring that Rusty Taco continues to deliver high-quality food in the welcoming, “come as you are” environment it’s known for. With the support of Gala Capital Partners (GCP), the private investment firm that acquired Rusty Taco in 2022, Daniel is committed to leading the brand’s strategic growth and solidifying its position in the fast-casual dining space.
