Betsy Orton

In her 20+ years in the nonprofit sector, Betsy’s leadership and communication skills have resulted in millions of donor dollars creating positive change in education, the environment and the community. As Executive Director for The Dickey Foundation, the charitable arm for Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, she works with Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Owners to help first responders across the country. In 2020 she worked with Dickey’s corporate entity and Owners to create the first benefit Big Yellow Cup resulting in more than $150,000 in donations that were distributed as Dickey Foundation grants to first responder departments across the country. Since then, the Big Yellow Cup donation has become an evergreen promotion that provides a charitable contribution for the Foundation with every Big Yellow Cup sale. A graduate of Southern Methodist University, Betsy founded After-School All-Stars’ North Texas Chapter and has led development and marketing initiatives for several nonprofit organizations including Mi Escuelita Preschool, American Red Cross and Texas Trees Foundation.
