Chris Simms

CEO/Founder • Lazy Dog Restaurants

Chris Simms is the chief executive officer and founder of Lazy Dog Restaurant, a rapidly expanding, Rocky Mountain-inspired concept known for its handcrafted food and drink. He opened the first Lazy Dog in 2003, setting out to create a unique guest experience with innovative twists on American dishes, all served in a warm, contemporary mountain lodge setting.

Under Chris’ leadership, Lazy Dog has grown to more than 50 locations across eight states, including California, Nevada, Colorado, Illinois, Texas, Virginia, Florida and Georgia. The company now employs over 6,000 teammates nationwide.

Chris’ decades of experience in hospitality began when he was only 14 years old, running a snack bar at a local club and washing dishes at Snake River Grill in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. His experiences taught him the importance of hospitality, working closely with the community, and a commitment to quality in and out of the kitchen. Chris received his bachelor of science degree from Cornell University. Outside of work, he enjoys playing volleyball in his hometown of Manhattan Beach, California, and spending time with his wife and four children.
